About Riedel's Daiginjo Glass - In November 1997, Riedel was approached by Fukumitsuya Co. Ltd. to develop the ideal glass shape for Japanese sake. This glass was to be created according to Riedel's guiding glass design principle where the content determines the shape. Shortly thereafter, in 1998, Riedel conducted several "glass tastings" in 1615 1867 history japan and outside of Japan using different sake varieties.
